Shopmobility
Shopmobility is a
free loan scheme that provides manual or powered wheelchairs and a large range of scooters to help people who have mobility problems shop and use the city centre facilities of Plymouth.
The service is available to
residents and visitors to Plymouth, young or old and irrespective of whether their disability
or mobility problem is temporary or permanent.
A returnable deposit of £2.50 is
required and it is advisable to book at least 24 hours in advance to ensure that a suitable vehicle is available on your arrival.
On your first visit you will be asked to produce some form of identification and complete a simple registration form.
A member of staff will demonstrate the use of the vehicle, give you tuition and allow you to practice if necessary. When
we are satisfied you are able to drive the vehicle safely, you will be free to roam the city centre on your own.
Most of our power chairs have dual controls enabling either occupant or helper to control.
